Assam: A Jewel in the Crown of India

Assam is one of the Seven Sister states of India, others being Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Tripura and Nagaland. It’s a part of the great north eastern legacy of India. Assam is a beautiful land that boasts of the magnificent Himalayas and mighty rivers like Barak and Brahmaputra. It’s renowned for its picturesque beauty, the variety of minerals and the rich growth of crops.

Assam is famous for the world famous Assam tea, silk and petroleum resources. The state has a rich biodiversity. The Indian one-horned rhinoceros, one of the most endangered species of the world, has been successfully conserved in Assam. There are an endless species of birds in Assam and it’s also a habitat of the Asian elephant.
