Kerala Backwaters

The Kerala Backwaters are a network of interconnected rivers, lakes, canals, and inlets. It is an intricate system formed by more than 900km of waterways. The network includes five large lakes, which are linked by canals, and are fed by 38 rivers. Backwaters extend virtually in half the length of Kerala state. The backwaters were formed by the action of waves’ currents creating low fence islands across the mouths of the many rivers flowing down from the Western Ghats range. The Kerala Backwaters play an important role in the Kerala’s tourism industry.

The ‘Skin’ is an upadhatu (sub-tissue) of mamsa dhatu (muscle-tissue). The scalp hairs are updhatu of majja dhatu (bone-marrow tissue). The Nails, Body hairs, hairs of Beard & Moustache are the mala (wastes) of the asthi dhatu (skeletal- tissue).

Ayurvedic Treatments exhibits some basic dietary signal that can benefit everyones health. Till date Kerala is the only State in India, which gives the full fledged opportunity of medicine with absolute dedication. Monsoon is considered to be the ideal time for rejuvenation. From early time only monsoon was regarded as the best season for Ayurveda regimens.

Ayurveda regards the measures that have to be taken in routine life style as well as the treatment procedures for diseases. It is the science which is based on the Tridosha principle. Doshas are the representation/generalization of the biological functions of human body. Both health and disease are related to the balance or imbalance of these doshas. By having heavy fatty foods is the prime factor for obesity. Ayurveda has a very keen proclivity in maintaining the weight. Your weight should be according to your age and height. The body has to maintain proper weight as, overweight can cause many troubles. Obesity welcomes many diseases such as malfunctioning of liver, heart, and kidneys. Classification of Ayurvedic Centers in Kerala

With increased acceptance of Ayurveda around the world, a newfound enthusiasm is visible among the entrepreneurs of Kerala to offer Ayurveda treatments to domestic and foreign tourists.

This prompted Government of Kerala to certify the credentials of all Ayurveda centers, Ayurvedic massage centers, Ayurvedic treatment centers across Kerala.

The responsibility of classifying Ayurvedic centers reached Kerala Tourism Department.

The classification of Ayurvedic centers is of two types: Green Leaf and Olive Leaf. To be classified as an Olive Leaf or a Green Leaf certified center, the Ayurvedic center must meet basic requirements like qualified technical staff, treatment and rest rooms, quality of medicines, quality equipments etc.

Additional qualification marks for obtaining Green Leaf certificate include an in house medicinal plant garden, abundance of greenery, picturesque location and quiet atmosphere.

Ayurveda centers with Olive Leaf or Green Leaf Certificate are approved by Kerala Government.
