Mumbai is the land of dreams where people come from all over the country to realize their ambition and create a life for themselves. The major attraction of Mumbai is its film industry that is known as ‘Bollywood’ not only in India but also internationally. Most of the people, who arrive in Mumbai, come with stars in their eyes and think of making it big in various industries, films being a primary source of attraction. It is however, not just the acting part that attracts people as Mumbai, being the financial capital of India, has sufficient opportunities for people who are willing to strive hard to realize their dreams. The film industry, which is a major source of income for India now, has made a name for itself in the global scenario with the movies in Mumbai creating a wave even in the international film festivals and winning many awards.

Movies in Mumbai are a major source of entertainment and livelihood for many people and hence the industry is thriving and gaining strength day by day. Each Friday sees the release of new movies and many of them go on to become blockbusters of the year. Even now there exist many people who would not want to miss the first day first show of Friday and go on a hunt for tickets much in advance when a much awaited movie is about to be released. Well, if you too fall into the category of movie lovers, then one of the best ways to catch the movies in Mumbai would be through the yellow pages service or perhaps the internet. Find out the theater where your preferred movie is playing, get the contact details for the place and book your tickets over the phone. This will ensure that you have your tickets secured and can watch the show at a date and time preferred and convenient to you.

Movies in Mumbai are extensively popular with people from all over the world and not just India because of the rich manner of story telling. The extravagant sets and costumes, the song and dance sequences, etc. are all necessary ingredients in a typical ‘masala’ movie churned out by Bollywood. This kind of movie played on the big screen is sure to catch the imagination of all the viewers and is entertainment at its best. The technology and technical know-how has also vastly improved over the years and the movies made in Mumbai are giving a great competition to the international films as well.

If you want to enjoy the movies in Mumbai, ensure that you go with a mindset to get the maximum out of your movie watching experience. Be prepared to submit yourself completely to the magic of the big screen while you indulge your taste buds in some crunchy popcorn and soft drinks. Once you are hooked on to the magic of movies, you will find the doors of an imaginary world opening up for you and is sure to keep you entertained for the three hours that you spend inside the movie hall and the experience is sure to remain with you even long after you have left the hall.

Young, lively diverse cultural streams flows and cross currents Mumbai have a unique position of multinational city of India. The capital of is located in the southwestern part of India and occupies a peninsula, which originally consisted of seven small islands and the Konkan coast of Western India. Mumbai, also financial and commercial hub of the country ooze and have a main port on the Arab sea.

However, there is another face of Mumbai that it is most closely populated cities in the world. Mumbai is put on a place of the old regulation and took to its name of the local goddess “Mumba”, a shape of Shiva’s wife, Parvati.

The city was from the beginning of British rule, “Raj”, the economically most important location of South Asia and contributes to this day in Indian-thirds of the income tax. This provides the differences in the metropolis no larger: more than Dollar millionaire in Germany and the largest slum in the world. With the economic upturn of the city people from all parts of India, in Bombay, all cultures, all religions and all languages of India.

Mumbai, Maharashtra is the most modern state in India with its towering into the sky skyscrapers in Mumbai (Bombay), its vital industry and its busy trading. Upward, always on, fast forward: The former Bombay is the epicentre of India’s economic miracle. In the fine clubs celebrate movie stars and stockbrokers, the streets are filled with the roaring choreography of the masses.

Sightseeing : Salaam Bombay! With this welcome from the well-known film begins for many tourists, the first day in India.

The fountain of Flora manages to keep his calm and serenity amid the imposing traffic from the busy city life.

This is the heart of Mumbai, surrounded by majestic colonial buildings that stand as sentinel’s old pride of a past era. Flora is the Roman goddess of flowers, but her pretty face alabaster is continually beset by pollution.

Bhau Daji Lad Museum, it is attached to the gardens of Victoria. Built according to the Greco-Roman style, the museum attracts people who have a keen interest in the geographical and archaeological discoveries. This museum is archeological discovery, maps and photographs depicting the history of Mumbai.

Gateway of India Initially, the transition from India was built to accommodate the British King George V and Queen was completed on December 4, 1924. Imagine for the last British troops passed on February 28, 1948 by leaving the country after the declaration of independence of India.

In the metropolis of Mumbai there are many places of worship that are accessible to the various societies. There are temples for Hindus and Buddhists, mosques for Muslims and churches for Christians. For Buddhist places of worship are located in the suburbs northwest, Worli. A huge Buddha statue at Kanheri Caves is also impressive Buddhist worship place in Mumbai.

For Muslim holy place in Mumbai, The Haji Ali mosque is standing in the sea of Mumbai. You can walk to this mosque only in the fine weather day only. Small and simple Cathedral of St. Thomas, is one of the buildings English oldest of Mumbai. The first Anglican Church in the city of Mumbai is located in the heart of the commercial district.

Elephanta cave, contrast experience: from the hectic Mumbai on a tropical island green. Traveler, who has this the half-hour voyage would get authentic experience, not the climbs Luxury launch, but less tourist boats , and take time to look for the rise to the temples on the island for walking. The cave temple, probably between 450 and 750 incurred, are the main attraction, ahead of a Shiva Temple dedicated Mahesha. A powerful Lingam-Phallus symbol is eight Goalkeeper statues guarded. Not a stone phallus imagines that you can hear by modern Hindus a power symbol.

Learn real Mumbai by shopping is the best way at the choir bazaar, the market for thieves, and the abdomen of Mumbai. In each lane have another drama. The spice dealers brought red, green, orange pyramids. In another shop window of the gold dealers sell sparkle accessories. Before a Hindu temple are chains of jasmine flowers braided. There are sold even broken transistor radios, discarded television. Sold, which still somehow those can be used. Furthermore, everything they can somehow use.

In the United States, New York is known as the ‘city that never sleeps’. Its counterpart in India is Mumbai. India is among the favorite tourist destinations at present. Despite the small troubles that occur in the streets of India, tourists still love to go to this magnificent and alluring country. Maybe because of its glorious past or perhaps of its scenic tourist spots… India is a place that you shouldn’t miss to visit. If you travel to India, visit Mumbai.

Mumbai is a very important commercial center in India. So far, it is the largest metropolitan area and is densely populated. The so-called Star Machine of the country is found in Mumbai, Bollywood. This Star Machine is able to come up with motion pictures more than what Hollywood can produce. The entertainment industry in India is booming and its popularity around the world is ever increasing. Indian cinema has definitely contributed to the country’s cultural and economic context.

The metropolitan area is located in the coastal area. Almost half of India’s sea cargo and traffic is catered in this sea harbor. Many years ago, Mumbai was a 7-island archipelago. Way back in the nineteenth century, the archipelago was amalgamated. Geographical features in Mumbai are diverse and so if you visit this city at any time of the year, you will experience tropical weather.

Mumbai’s culture is a reflection of many cultural influences. The city celebrates both the eastern and western festivals. These festivals are much awaited by the tourists and so you have to know when the festivals are being celebrated. This represents unity despite the differences within the city. India is a country with different religions and beliefs but still, the entire country remains peaceful and very accommodating to tourists.

Heritage sites are also located in Mumbai which includes Elephanta Caves and Chatrapati Shivaji. When you’re already in India, do check with your travel agency or the tourist guide if you can visit the sites because this might be your only chance to visit the place.

The city was only called Mumbai in 1995 but before that, local residents called it Bombay. The city is a hub for the manufacturing industry, transportation, and commercial. The name Mumbai was derived from a Hindu Goddess known as Mumba or Parvati.

While you’re in Mumbai, you should also see India’s Gateway. This is a structure that sea travelers first see when they arrive at the harbor. There are also monuments in the city like the Gothic style Presidency Secretariat, University Hall and Tower, Clock Tower of Rajabai, and High Court. If you’re looking for a castle in this city, you should go to the Horniman Circle. You can find the castle in the fort area’s center.

There are still many things to see in Mumbai aside from those mentioned awhile earlier. Your tourist guide can show you around the city of Mumbai. If you want, before you travel to India, you should already conduct a research about Mumbai and choose the specific locations that you want to visit.

If you’re not staying long in India or in Mumbai, make sure that you visit the most popular tourist spots so that your travel is not wasted. You can even take pictures if you like so that you can show your friends and family how wonderful the country is. Plan your trip or travel to India and visit Mumbai while you have the chance.

Local nature tells the story of an impetuous geological past: Mumbai consists of seven islands that form its territory. According to one legend, the name of the city derives from the name of the Hindu goddess Mumbadevi, which is greatly honoured on this territory.

Modern Mumbai (formerly known as Bombay) is the capital of the Maharashtra state, with a population of about 13 million people. It is an important trading, industrial and financial city, a principal Indian port, which also has the country’s liveliest airport. Mumbai is also one of the foremost educational and scientific centers of India. In addition to this, it is traditionally considered to be the centre for Indian film industry – every year, the biggest number of movies in the world is produced here.

As for the city’s cultural live, it is really varied and cosmopolitan. Very often Mumbai helds exhibitions by the best modern artists, concerts by world-famous stars and expositions from the best museums of the world. You will also find lots of galleries and concert halls in the city.
Every tourist who comes to Mumbai wants to visit Colaba area, with its port and a great amount of various hotels, restaurants, stores, shops and counters. Turn your back on Colaba, and you will face the territory that was once occupied by the Fort. This is the place to observe lots of Colonial-style buildings: post office, port constructions, railway stations, banks, tourist offices and blocks of flats. “Gateway of India”, a massive arch, reminds of the times when the majority of India tourists came to the country by the sea and disembarked in Bombay. Not far from the gates there is a five-star Taj Mahal hotel found.

To the right from Colaba you will encounter a huge building – the former Prince of Wales Museum, called this way to commemorate the visit that the future king George the Fifth made to the city in 1905. The first part of the museum was opened in 1911 and contained exhibits in arts, ethnography, natural history, and paintings by famous artists. Many of them are still there.
Not far from here there are the seat of the Bombay High Court and the old Bombay University located. The latter is adorned with a clock tower which bears some resemblance of the Big Ben in London. This district attracts people with its old colonial buildings. Some of them were built in the beginning of the ХIХ century. The district has two logical centers standing on one axis. On the one side, its Flora Fountain, and on the other side, its Horniman Circle which adjoins the port. The Horniman Circle offers lots of things to see. Those are Municipality building and the Mint (built in 1828 and designed in Ionic style).

Marine Drive is reputed as the best place to walk along. Here one will find Taraporevala Aquarium, Chowpatty Beach and the prestigious Malabar Hill, where the most prosperous Mumbai people live. Atop of the hill, you will see the so-called Hanging Gardens, known as one of the best parks in the city.

As for the other Mumbai attractions, they are: Haji Ali Mosque, Mumbai Planetarium, zoo and the historical museum.

So, modern Mumbai is a rapidly growing and prosperous city. Being a rich and beautiful place, it still has some contrasts, just like any other huge Indian city. Here, poverty stands close to luxury and technical progress.

The nation’s financial capital Mumbai has so far been witnessing skyrocketing real estate prices. But as population is escalating at the same pace and people are pouring from all over, the city is struggling to fit them all.

As Mumbai’s profile attributes, it houses number of glitzy apartments and also many middle-of-the-road apartment buildings. But don’t go by this façade, to buy an apartment in Mumbai one has to have a hefty bank balance to count on.

Photograph by <a target="_blank"href="http://www.stuckincustoms.com">Trey Ratcliff

All this has contributed to Mumbai real estate being the most expensive of all in the country. On one hand this city is home to the Indian film industry, and other big shots of politics and business world but on the other side half of the city’s population still lives in slums, without proper access to water, health care or sanitation.

Despite this widespread poverty, huge property deals continue to make headlines in Mumbai real estate industry. Case in point, only last month a film star set a national record by purchasing a three-bedroom apartment in south Mumbai for a whopping Rs 1.2 lakh per sq ft.

Considering this wide gap in the living conditions of its population and recognizing the housing shortfall the government is coming up with redevelopment plans and mass housing schemes for the people. Though many Mumbai real estate developers have pitched in for various projects in both spheres, the progress has been slow. Besides, recently the land allotted for affordable housing scheme has been encroached.

Moreover, the problem of growing urban population is the one that needs to be tackled first hand. Also, the people needs to be provided with basic facilities of water, food, electricity, security and other services such as transportation and education to ensure sustainable living. For this, the government as well as Mumbai Real Estate Builders surely need to be on their toes for making Mumbai real estate a global property market.
