Rajasthan India – An Ultimate Tourism Experiance

Published by under Rajasthan

Yogesh Kumar

Rajasthan is the one of the most attractive destinations
in India for both domestic and International tourists. About 6 million people visit the State every year of which 9% are foreign tourists. On an average a domestic tourist spends Rs. 400 per day and an Iternational tourist spends Rs. 800 a day (M/s. A. F. Ferguson & Company). Rajasthan being poorly endowed in terms of water availability depend on the non-farm sector to develop its economy and improve the quality of life of its people. Hence the development of tourism has great relevance.

Amazing legends of heroism and romance still resound from its equally amazing architecture, that still stands to narrate its tale of a bygone era. The magic of Rajasthan is unequalled in the world for its heritage, culture, safaris, sand dunes and lush green forests with its wildlife. Rajasthan is often expressed as huge open-air museum with relic so well preserved for the travellers and the curious of the day. It is action-packed with outdoors too; take a safari on horses, camels, elephants or even jeeps with the Aravalis – India’s oldest mountain range in the backdrop, or caress your eyes on the sloppy sand dunes, or trail a tiger or just watch birds on wetland. Or you can choose to pamper yourself in the lavish heritage properties. Rajasthan has something for everyone, just choose your activity.

Tourist Destinations of Rajasthan

Published by under Rajasthan

by MINHAJ ALAM

Introduction

lakes-gate-2-rRajasthan Tour is famous among the travelers of the world as the land of heroism, the India destination where travelers hear incredible stories of romance and courage – bewitching enough to appear a fairy tale but real enough to have been a component of the region’s story. Rajasthan Today does not require a Rajputana warrior to charge on his warhorse into a battlefield for his kingdom, and women of Rajasthan are no longer unseeable under the [Photograph by Zé Eduardo ] “purdah system”, but an aura of the foregone era lingers. Whether it is inviolable forts, the magnificent palaces, the centuries-old shops and markets, or the silent sand dune of the Thar Desert, every nook and corner of the area has its own story to tell.

ADVENTURE TRAVELING -PART-III (RAJASTHAN)

Horse Safaris, Rajasthan

Amid the havelis of Shekhawati, the fort at Nawalgarh is the base for Shekhawati Brigade Horse Safaris. A well-oiled operation brings you the best of riding experiences: 22 Marwari, Kathiawadi and Sindhi horses can take you cross-country in unspoilt terrain. A team of one outrider, an ex-army cooks, a camp in charge, and folk musicians escort you through semi-desert terrain, forests,

salt lakes, marshes and flat grasslands. Camp is a luxurious affair, though you must bring your own chaps, helmet and boots. Confident riders best enjoy this holiday, though there’s no bar against beginners; you’ll cover 25-40 km a day. In November, you can join the Pushkar Fair Horse Safari (3-17 November, 8N/9D).

Pushkar Resort

And you thought it would be all sand. Try15 acres of green, 40 luxury airconditioned cottages with private sit-outs (single $50, double $60), restaurant, conference facility, golf driving range, swimming pool, a royal Kafila safari, telescopic star gazing, ayurvedic massages, sand volleyball, traditional Rajasthani performances… you can visit Pushkar’s sites of interest and crafts-shop till you drop. If you can make it in time for the Pushkar camel fair (November 16-19 this year) it’s well worth it. GETTING THERE from Delhi takes the NH-8 (400km, 7hrs) to Ajmer or the Shatabdi (Ajmer station is 11 km from the resort). You can also fly to Jaipur (130km/ 2.5hrs away) and drive down from there. Just ask for Motisar Road, Pushkar.
